Vision:
An organization founded on the principles of ‘giving’, justice,
compassion, balance and God consciousness, as reflected by all
religions of the world, for all people, through Education, the Arts, a
sustainable and green Built Environment. All actions will be based on
sustainable and green principles attempting to establish a balanced
self and society, in the world starting with oneself.
Mission:
A philanthropy through a Sustainable Built Environment, Education and
the Arts,(SEA) using various tools, as Scholarships, grants, Visual
Art, Film, publications and Sustainable Architecture, which promote
balance with the natural and built world, society and the human
spiritual and physical self to build a sustainable world.
Value Statement or Core Value:
A philanthropic organization which is inclusive to all people which
core and principle values are reflections of the organization’s founder
and architect, Uzma Mirza, a Muslim woman social entrepreneur and
artist creating non-profit actions, in the world through sustainable or
balanced principles, which are basic tenets of her Islamic faith,
encouraging equality, justice, compassion and dignity for all humans,
in the footsteps of all the Prophets.
The Charter of The Pen and Inkpot Foundation (SEA)
1.1 Sustainable Architecture and infrastructure
A building in a society, as a helping hand to make a balanced, just and
equitable society for all people. Building and
designing
infrastructures and an environment basic and conducive to a healthy
life in all society. e.g. By providing aid and building infrastructure
in acquiring clean water and
alleviating poverty, through sustainable and green sacred spaces,
assembly halls, sustainable homes,
schools, hospitals, soup kitchens, orphanages, shelter for
woman, children and the elderly.
1.2 Inkpot Academic and Arts Scholarship Fund
a. Inkpot Academic Scholarship or Pi Scholarship:
Help youth, in underdeveloped societies or refugees
of a society through a 501c3 or equivalent organizations, to receive
basic
and higher education, which
will allow them to find employment, give back and live sustainably in
society.
i) Inkpot Basic education Scholarship (preschool to highschool or equivalent)
ii) Inkpot Higher education Scholarship (graduate of
highschool or equivalent, in pursuant of a University education)
iii) Combination of the two: Dr. Aijaz Mirza and Shahnaz Mirza Scholarships
b. Inkpot Arts Grant or Pi Grants:
i) Inkpot Arts in either film, visual arts, written word as books or
Music. All vehicles must adhere to the basic elements,
of the charity, with content not in opposition to
its vision, mission and value statement of the core value.
1.3 Inkpot Forum: a conference, a fundraiser, an educational event for interfaith and multicultural diversity
A Forum of speakers and on work by various authors,
scholars, poets, scientists, professionals, pedagogy, families and so
on
and so forth, who share the mission and vision of the
charity and work towards action and change.
1.4 ‘The Inkpot’: an e-newsletter, or calendar, or Artbook
1.5 Relief: Poverty and Disaster Helping hand
A funding to help societies due to natural
destruction, and poverty with it’s basic needs or infrastructure.
